Last April 9, Valor Day here in Manila which is considered a legal holiday, we trooped all the way to Batangas to have our company outing at Matabungkay Beach Hotel in Lian, Batangas. To go there, you have to use the Tagaytay-Nasugbu Road instead of following the Star Tollway-Lipa route. The entire La Cocina de Tita Moning staff (both full-time and part-time) along with our respective families had a fun day tour there.

Don’t you wish every time you travel out-of-town you could stay in a cozy yet affordable hotel? I do. And I know a lot of travelers wish just the same. My pleasant overnight stay at Grand Prix Hotel & Suites Manila last Friday (May 6) proved to be both a blessing and a realization. Manila Peninsula Hotel is one of the luxury hotels in Makati. It gets busy all-year round as it’s one of the most favorite hotels of the rich and famous. So famous is this hotel that it became part of history when an attempted coup against the Arroyo government was staged in its grand lobby. The attack was made possible by a group of rebel soldiers led by Former Navy Lieutenant Senior Grade Antonio Trillanes IV (who is currently a Philippine senator).
