Last May 6 & 7 (Monday and Tuesday), our office held its team building/strategic planning/summer outing at Palm Beach Resort in San Juan, Batangas. It’s a good three-hour travel from Manila thru SLEX and Star Tollway. The place is huge and tucked behind the mountains which I think makes it more private and relaxing than other resorts in the popular Laiya beach strip. Actually, it’s not part of Brgy. Laiya anymore but of Brgy. Hugom (the one next to Laiya).

Matabungkay Beach Hotel: Our Company Outing Venue
Last April 9, Valor Day here in Manila which is considered a legal holiday, we trooped all the way to Batangas to have our company outing at Matabungkay Beach Hotel in Lian, Batangas. To go there, you have to use the Tagaytay-Nasugbu Road instead of following the Star Tollway-Lipa route. The entire La Cocina de Tita Moning staff (both full-time and part-time) along with our respective families had a fun day tour there.

Hey…It’s More Fun in the Philippines!
It’s more fun in the Philippines. This exact phrase is the new tagline of our Department of Tourism (DOT). The aim is to promote the Philippines to the world. The aim is to triple the number of tourists going here. We can only hope that this tourism campaign of the DOT launched just last Friday (January 6) succeeds this time. As a Filipino, I strongly believe in my country. I strongly believe that it is really more fun in the Philippines. And we have our rich natural wonders and our very own people to thank for that.
Cheapest Pagudpud Accommodation: Agua Seda Beach Resort, Blue Lagoon Beach
When we had a super fun Ilocos weekend getaway two weeks ago, we stayed at Agua Seda Beach Resort in Blue Lagoon (a.k.a. Maira-ira Beach). Specifically, it’s located in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. I daresay it’s the cheapest accommodation one could ever get in Pagudpud. To give you an idea, we paid only P7,000 for two rooms and we were composed of 13 adults. Ms. Letty C. Garvida, Agua Seda’s owner who’s a retired teacher, was kind enough to give us dirt-cheap rooms with the best personalized service.
